At Wisdom Psychology, we provide comprehensive, strength-based psychoeducational assessments for children and adolescents to help families understand how their child learns, thinks, and functions. Our assessments can provide clarity around concerns such as ADHD, autism, learning disabilities, giftedness, and other developmental or learning differences, while identifying practical recommendations and supports. A clear assessment can also provide the documentation families may need when seeking school accommodations, specialized services, or potential public funding and community supports. Our goal is to give you clear answers, useful recommendations, and a path forward that helps your child thrive.
What we assess
When your child is struggling at school, at home, or socially, it can be difficult to know what is really going on or what kind of support they need. A psychoeducational assessment provides a comprehensive look at your child’s cognitive abilities, learning profile, attention, academic skills, and emotional or behavioural functioning to help identify their strengths and areas of difficulty.
Depending on your child’s concerns, an assessment may help clarify whether ADHD, autism, a learning disability, giftedness, or another learning or developmental difference may be contributing to their challenges.
Most importantly, you leave with more than a diagnosis. You receive a clear understanding of how your child learns and functions, along with individualized recommendations for school accommodations, learning strategies, home support, and next steps. Assessment results and documentation may also be useful when applying for eligible educational, community, or public funding and support programs.

Most services are covered under extended health benefits listed under Registered Psychologist or Psychologist. We encourage you to first check with your extended health provider to ensure that you covered before booking your service with us. We do offer direct billing to several prominent insurance companies in Alberta to make the process a little simpler.
